The Holy Prophet SAW encouraged the use of Miswak, citing the 10 virtues of using it:
1. It cleans the mouth.
2. It is mean of pleasing Allah SWT.
2. It is mean of pleasing Allah SWT.
3. It upsets Shaytaan
4. It attracts the love of Allah SWT, as well as that of the Angels who are commissioned to protect the people.
5. It strengthens the gums
6. It removes phlegm
7. It gives a good fragrance to the mouth
8. It removes anger
9. It sharpens the eyesight
10. It rids the mouth of odors
